Rexburg can be a cold, dreary place between January and April, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy life. Below is a list of great activities (both indoor and outdoor) to do here in the winter.
Outdoor Activities
Rexburg Snow Fest
What: Hot chocolate hut, fire pit with S’mores, snow bank treasure hunt, sledding, horse wagon rides, snow graffiti, snowball target throw, polar bear swim.

Driggs Snowscapes
Check out some fantastic ice sculptures in Driggs on Jan 30th. It’s a great way to see some stunning artwork, but it won’t last long.

Sledding at the Sand Dunes
The Sand Dune’s tall hills are perfect for sledding during the winter months. If you don’t have a sled, you can rent one at the ORC on BYU-Idaho Campus. This activity is great for families, couples, and college students. It’s inexpensive and it offers a memorable experience.
Where to Go:
Go north on second east. Keep going for about 20 miles until you reach the dunes.
Black Ice – Ice-skating in Rigby
Hours: Mon-Fri: 4:00pm – 10:00pm Sat: 10:00am – 10:00pm

Build a Snowman, Ice Fort, or Snow Dragon
If you have a creative streak (even if you don’t) making a snowman or snow fort can be a lot of fun. Rexburg generally has plenty of snow to go around. The best times are when the snow is wet and sticky. You won’t get very far when the snow is light and powdery.

Indoor Activities
Splatters Family Fun Center and Indoor Paintball
This is brand new! This paintball and air-soft gun arena is where the Family Dollar used to be. There’s a paintball arena in the basement (for hard-core enthusiasts), and an air-soft arena upstairs which is ideal for kids (or casual players). In addition to paintball and air-soft guns, they also feature nerf-gun rentals which is perfect for people who don’t relish the idea of potentially getting bruised by paintballs or plastic pellets.

Center Stage Performances at BYU-Idaho
BYU-Idaho always has a great line-up of live performances, plays, and events. This year has some truly unique experiences including a Chinese acrobatic circus, and professional marionette troope from Switzerland performing a marionette performance of the Sound of Music.
